Berkeley Vale Youth Forum

Berkeley Vale Youth Voice – Helping to Improve the Community

Berkeley Vale Youth Forum

Who We Are

Berkeley Vale Youth Forum was created in 2012 following a community based youth consultation which was led by members of Stroud District Youth Council who lived in the area. The following report highlighted that young people; needed things to do and places to go, wanted to be listened and heard as part of a recognised forum; and are positive citizens that can be part of the solution, not the problem.

Our youth forum group is open to all young people within the Berkeley Vale area that are between the ages of 13 and 19, and interested in making a difference in their community.

Our Projects

Berkeley Vale Youth Forum works by running projects, usually one or two a year depending how big they are, that will bring about some kind of change in Berkeley. These projects are designed by the group through meetings where members are encouraged to think about what issues young people are facing at the moment, and what they’d like to do in response. Once the group have picked a topic and project they’d like to take forwards their Youth Workers, Jemma & Rachael, will work with them to help them bring the project to life.

These projects are youth-led, and totally depend on what the members feel they want to achieve or tackle. The sky is the limit, with previous groups having run music events, environmental campaigns, movements for social change, and worked with local councils and organisations to create physical changes within the community.

If you, or a young person you know, wants to get involved then please get in touch via the contact details below or get involved here.

Alternatively, if you don’t fancy being actively involved, but you’ve got an issue you’d like the group to look at you can have your say here.

This Local Youth Forum Group currently meets on average every 2 weeks, as follows:

Day: To Be Confirmed

Time: To Be Confirmed

Venue: To Be Confirmed
