Chalford Cubed Youth Forum – Speaking Out & Making Changes
Chalford Cubed Youth Forum is a group for young people living in and around Chalford to get creative about how they can improve their local community for youth.
We’re all about promoting youth voice throughout the local community, giving young people the opportunity to improve the place they live for themselves and for future youth. Throughout our work we encourage young people to work together with local organisations and adult decision makers to bring about positive change, not just for young people but also for the wider community. Chalford Youth Forum is a place young people can come to make new friends, gain new skills and confidence, and generally have fun while making a difference.
Chalford Youth Forum is currently looking for new members and welcomes interest from any young people between the ages of 13 and 19 that live in or around the area. If you’re interested, or if you know a young person you think might be interested, contact Rachael through the details below.
Chalford Cubed works by running projects, usually one or two a year depending how big they are, that will bring about some kind of change in Chalford. These projects are designed by the group through meetings where members are encouraged to think about what issues young people are facing at the moment, and what they’d like to do in response. Once the group have picked a topic and project they’d like to take forwards our Youth Worker, Rachael, will work with them to help them bring the project to life.
These projects are youth-led, and totally depend on what the members feel they want to achieve or tackle. The sky is the limit, with previous groups having run music events, environmental campaigns, movements for social change, and worked with local councils and organisations to create physical changes within the community.
Previously Chalford Cubed Youth Forum have written articles for the Stroud News and Journal, and designed their own local radio station.
If you don’t want to join but you’ve got something you’d like the group to discuss or work towards you can let us know here.
