Stroud Town & Five Valleys

Stroud Town & Five Valleys Youth Forum

Who We Are

Stroud Town & 5 Valleys Youth Forum are a friendly group of young people between the ages of 13 to 19 that meet fortnightly to chat about how we can make Stroud a better place for young people to live and enjoy.

We’re all about having fun and making a positive difference in our community, and our two hour sessions are a relaxed space where we can share our thoughts and ideas, as well as getting creative and planning events, campaigns or movements. At the beginning of 2018 we finished our most recent project; an under 18’s music night called ‘Now That’s What I Call Stroud’, which we put on to raise awareness of the Sub Rooms as a venue for young people, as well as support young musicians and give young people around the area a great night out!

We’re interested in making a difference in lots of ways, and we regularly work with other local organisations, adult decision makers, and other groups to make this happen.

Our Projects

The way we work is by running projects, usually one or two a year depending how big they are, that bring about some kind of change in Stroud. These projects are decided on by the group members through several meetings where we’ll think about what issues we feel are important to young people at the moment, and what we’d like to do about them. Our Youth Worker, Rachael, will help us through this process, and once we’ve got a project that we want to take forward she’ll work with us to help us make that happen.

Our recent projects have included the under 18’s music night ‘Now That’s What I Call Stroud’, and ‘A Day In The Life of A Teen’, which brought adults and young people together to look at the issues young people are facing in todays world.

If you think it sounds like fun and you’d like to get involved give Rachael an email or a text on the contact details below and come along and join us!

Or if you’ve got an issue you think we should be discussing you can have your say here.
